MORTON FISHERY |
The Fishery. |
| Morton Fishery is a well established fishery
of 22 acres which is set in woodland some 900 feet above sea level with an artificial
dam wall this gives the
angler a chance to fish a variety of flies and patterns at the fishery.
Morton was a private angling club prior to becoming a commercial fishery in 1983. It is now stocked mainly with rainbow trout but does hold a small number of brown trout. Morton is stocked twice a week with hard fighting rainbows. |
StockingA lot of big changes have been in force this year at the fishery mainly a new stockist being a big success providing an excellent quality of fish. We have been trickle stocking Brown Trout throughout the season best this year is 2lbs 4oz, Char were put in at the start of the year at 1lb 4oz and Brook Trout to 2lbs 12oz and of course the Steelheads which have still to be caught.
