The Fishery. |
Broom Fisheries is Scotland's premier fishery. Within easy access of the M74 and M6, the Broom is set on a 200 acre rural complex dedicated to the sport of angling, with a mixture of coarse waters and fly fishing waters. Established for more than ten years, The Broom has more than 130 pegs, and is the ideal place for peaceful pleasure angling or club competitions. We also host Scotland's biggest prize competition, the Broom Series, with a prize fund in excess of £7,000. Another speciality is our charity fundraising service – for example, last year we raised £7,500 in one day for Macmillan Cancer Support. Stock.The fly fishing lochs are stocked with Grade 1 trout ranging from 1.75lbs to in excess of 20lbs with a cross section of species, namely rainbow, golden, blue, brown and tiger trout, which are stocked as available. The coarse waters are stocked with koi, common carp, mirror carp, F1 carp, barbel, bream, roach, perch, ide, trench, chub, and gudgeon. |
Facilities.Parking is central to the waters so you are never much more than a rod's cast from the lochside, making this venue ideal for the disabled. Fully plumbed toilets are available, including a toilet for disabled access. All fishing is from purpose built platforms with clearly defined pathways circumnavigating the waters. There is also a fisherman's bothy with a fully equipped cafe serving hot food, vending machines, and a place to congregate and relax with other anglers. |
